Free Site Survey
Tor Coatings conducted a site survey which involved thoroughly testing the existing substrate to ensure any recommended system was fully compatible. The survey found that the original 3,000m2 roof, which comprised of a raised seam copper design, had been leaking in a number of areas which and therefore causing disruption to the operation of the college. Due to the size of the project, it was important that any work would be carried out safely and allow the college to remain open while the works were being undertaken.
It was agreed that Unicover Ultra S was the ideal solution for the pitched roof and combating the leaking problems. Unicover Ultra S commonly solves the problems associated with the long-term waterproofing of mechanically sound pitched roof surfaces. A Verdi Gris colour Unicover Ultra S smooth was developed to match the existing patina colour of the copper roof. Unicover Ultra S is cold liquid applied which meant minimal disruption and the college could stay open.
Hugh L S McConnell were contracted to complete this project with site support from the Tor sales and technical service team. This partnership allowed Tor to provide the client with a 10-year Latent Defects guarantee, covering both the product and its application.
