Tor Coatings conducted a site survey on one of the units at Pennywell Road Industrial Estate which involved thoroughly testing the existing substrate to ensure any recommended system would be fully compatible.

The client was looking for a cost-effective, high performance coating system that would completely revitalise the exterior of the vacant unit and make it more attractive to potential tenants. Unicover S was evaluated as the best solution to give these units a new lease of life and improve the overall appearance of the area. The system is a single pack product which meant no time was wasted with on-site mixing. The high build product can be applied in a single coat application and is made from complex modified solvented acrylic which gives it excellent weathering properties. This also means it can withstand panel flexing without cracking along profile lines.

The project was carried out by contractor FWR with site support from the Tor sales and technical service team. The semi-gloss finish coating system was used to refurbish the vertical and roof cladding. Torlife 2 Pack Finish, Tor Alkyd Undercoat and Tor Alkyd Gloss were used on the doors, roof, grills and roller shutters, and the perimeter metal fencing. Once applied, the system provided an ‘as new’ finish.

In addition to the comfort of having a 25 year BBA accreditation, the project is covered by a 10-year guarantee before first major maintenance.
