Free Site Survey

1

A comprehensive survey of the site was carried out. During the inspection it was identified that the previous coating was an anti-graffiti coating. This required mechanical abrasion
to flatten the surface before overcoating with the proposed Torrex 3 fire upgrade system.

Testing carried out on site confirmed that the existing coating on the brickwork was suitable for overcoating as it demonstated adequate adhesion through a series of
adhesion checks.

Project Specification

2

To meet Euroclass B fire safety requirements, Torrex 3 was specified. Designed for interior communal spaces, the Torrex 3 fire upgrading coating system is engineered
to hold back flames in a fire, giving residents more time to evacuate safetly and minimising building damage.

It is designed to adhere seamlessly to previously painted substrates with a robust, water-based formula that pairs durablity with sustainable building practices.

Installation

3

Approved contractor for the Torrex 3 system, B4. Box washed down all areas using Tor WDA 10 before mechanically abrading the entire surface to remove high points in the previous coating and create a sound, uniform substrate. Following this, manual intervention was also needed, as individual cracks had to be addressed by hand.

During the application of the Torrex 3 coating, a medium-pile roller was transitioned to a long-pile roller in order to acheive the required wet-film thickness and a uniform finish across the uneven surface.

Continued Support

4

Torrex 3 has a robust formula that ensures long-lasting performance, reducing the need for frequent maintenance and reapplications.
