Raincoat™ Cladding Finish has been developed for the fast and cost effective refurbishment of architectural cladding.
In many cases the system can be applied in a single coat.
It allows re-colouring for corporate re-branding, change of ownership or it can be used to simply extend the life cycle of your cladding. Raincoat™ has been primarily designed for the refurbishment and redecoration of vertical cladding materials such as plastisol. Other substrates such as PVDF / thermoset enamels will require special primers.
As cladding refurbishment is dependant wholly on condition, we recommend asking for a free site survey to assess your building.
1st & 2nd Coat
Raincoat™ Cladding Finish (RC305)
Primarily designed for the refurbishment and redecoration of vertical cladding materials such as plastisol. Other substrates such as PVDF / thermoset enamels will require special primers.
As cladding refurbishment is dependant wholly on condition, we recommend asking for a free site survey to assess your building. This service provides you with a full site specification for your project.
Can be used on: Retail Stores, Warehouses, Manufacturing units, Distribution Units, any Commercial / Retail / Industrial building which utilises architectural cladding.
The following specifications are included for demonstrative purposes only. Always consult a representative of Tor Coatings prior to specifying or applying.
Where necessary, priming should be carried out using suitable compatible materials (it is advisable to determine necessity for priming with preliminary adhesion tests), for example:
Porous or friable surfaces: (e.g. fibre cement cladding): Prime with Raincoat™ Stabilising Sealer.
Metal Surfaces (including cleaned bolt heads, panel edge touch-ups, etc.): Suitably prepare and prime with Raincoat™ APA.
Plastic coated surfaces (e.g. ‘Plastisol’, PVF2, Polyester Powder, etc.): Consult Tor Coatings Ltd.
GRP surfaces: Thoroughly abrade then solvent wipe (e.g. Tor TH99 solvent).
(To vulnerable bolt heads, lap joints, drip edge details etc) Apply Raincoat™ Fibretex at approximately 1-2m²/litre, working well into all voids, ensuring product extends to at least 25mm from all edges and overlapping at least 15mm on to sound existing coatings.
The following recommended finishing coats are given for guidance on properly prepared (and where necessary primed/stripe coated), smooth sound substrates to give between 5 and 10 years life expectancy. Further advice should be sought for treatment of suspect or repainted surfaces.
Virtually Undamaged Coating Metal Surfaces
1 or 2 coats Raincoat™ Cladding Finish at maximum 6m² per litre.
Corroded/Delaminated Previous Coatings, Fibre Cement Cladding, Roof Trims etc
2 coats Raincoat™ Cladding Finish at maximum 6m²/litre.
