All Elastaseal™ Roof Waterproofing Systems have been developed to solve the problems associated with the long-term waterproofing of flat roofs, pitched Roofs and Gutters.
When used in combination with the appropriate insulation and vapour control layer, a warm roofing system can be easily created. These warm roofs are designed to allow compliance with the building regulations (Part L) and increase the thermal efficiency of the building, which in turn reduces carbon emissions.
We can carry out U-Value calculations on existing roof structures either by core sampling or obtaining information about the current build up of the roof from drawings. If your current roof has a U-Value of 0.33 or less then insulation will be required to bring it to a new U-Value of 0.18.
If your flat roof has significant areas of ponded water, then this will be adding weight to the structure and can be the cause of localised roof failures. We can design a ‘cut to falls’ insulated roof system which will direct the water off the roof. New gutters and valleys can be created within these schemes to maximise the efficiency of the water dispersal.
Our flat warm roof systems utilise a high performance ‘tongue and groove’ insulation board (Tortherm). This ‘T&G’ board helps smooth out the new roof surface, minimising the ‘piano-keying’ effect sometimes seen when laying butt jointed insulation boards on an uneven surface. This creates an intrinsically stronger roof system and results in less stress on the insulation board joints. Additionally, Tor can provide wind uplift calculations.

Our warm roofing systems are also available in our low odour range, using Elastaseal™ Z embedment and top coat.
The Tor Elastaseal™ Warm Roofing System:
Vapour Control membrane
Not always necessary.
Correctly specified for thermal performance with carrier membrane.
Chosen to promote adhesion on some insulation / carrier substrates. Embedment Coat: Elastaseal™ embedment coat is the base waterproofing layer reinforced with Elastamat™ glass fibre mat.
Use as necessary to complete the system for the desired life expectancy.
Elastaseal™ can be used over many types of traditional roofing materials such as: Felt, asphalt, bitumen, asbestos cement sheet, fibre cement sheet, concrete, single ply membranes, profiled metal sheets etc.
Used in combination with steel, concrete, screeded or timber constructed roofs.
Elastaseal™ Roof Waterproofing Systems are ideally suited for refurbishing and protecting weathered, worn and damaged substrates on many types of building:
Due to the high number of possible substrates and varying conditions in which they can be found, Tor Coatings strongly recommend that a site survey is carried out to determine the exact specification required.
Elastaseal™ is on the RIBA NBS+ system, please contact us if you want us to produce an NBS Formatted specification.
Tor Coatings offer a free site survey service, and all of our Area Business Managers are fully trained and able to carry out full site assessments. A detailed and bespoke specification will then be issued.
