Tor Coatings has completed the refurbishment of a number of detention cells at Grimsby Police Station on behalf of Humberside Police Force.

The cells are in use 24 hours a day and are prone to vandalism. For this reason the client required an extremely hard wearing anti-graffiti finish that would withstand deep cleaning every six months.

Tor Coatings is a pioneer and market leader in the field of anti-graffiti coating systems, having been involved with the technology since its conceptual stages in the early 1970’s. The Torlife™ WB system was specified based on its hard-wearing, easily cleaned anti-graffiti finish which can be achieved on all types of surfaces. It provides a seamless, tile-like surface enabling easy removal of graffiti, grease and other contaminants.

The coating has permanent anti-graffiti properties and can withstand regular steam cleaning and high pressure hosing making it ideal for the client’s application. An added benefit of the system is the Class ‘0’ fire rating it offers when applied to non-combustible surfaces.

The system is tintable on our CS2 scheme, making it available in any NCS/RAL/BS shade and providing a wealth of options to suit all desired aesthetics.

The gloss finish is exceptionally smooth making it far easier to clean than textured finishes. The product is also available as a transparent lacquer and can be applied over wood, brick and natural stonework to preserve the natural appearance.

Tor Coatings offers a full service including free site inspection, expert specifications, installation and after sales support.

A manufacturer’s warranty is provided and this can be backed up with a 7 year latent defects insurance cover for all Torlife™ WB installations undertaken by contractors in the Tor Partners professional contractors scheme.
